A Quick Update
Hi Friends,
Apologies for the delay in the update and status reports. Actually, there was nothing too much substantial that could be reported beyond the mails you all received from DIP's official mailbox. Let me write the activities that took place during last 2 months or so.
Registration through DIP website
So far, 38 friends have requested to register into DIP (29 to join and 24 to receive updates). Well, thats a good number. All of the people have received a welcome letter along with an initial information bulletin of Dream India Project. 36 people have received the welcome letter and DIP details document during last 2 months.
DIP Questionnaire
It was the brainchild of Kaushal and it was meant to create a consensus among all of us thrugh a survey or individual views/perspective so that the actual work could be started with focussed and concrete actionplan. So, Kaushal wrote a mail and I created the questionnaire. Let me summarise the activities related to the questionnaire.
Sept 11: Kaushal wrote the mail content
Sept 13: The mail, along with a questionnaire in doc format, sent to 50 friends. (These 50 people consists people attached with DIP and the people who had requested previously to join DIP or receive requests). The deadline was 22nd Sept.
Sept 19: 33 more people received the mail and the questionnaire. (These people were mostly my acquaintances who, I thought, could be inclined to do something for the nation). The deadline got extended to 24th Sept.
Sept 13-28: Received answered questionnaire from 6 people - Suvarna Nalapat(13th), Gaurav Shrivastava(18th), Ritumbra Manuvie(19th), Rajesh Kumar(23rd), Bhawna Gulati(24th), Abhisek Pandey(28th)
Sept 29 from Oct 22: 14 more people received the mail and the questionnaire.
Oct 5: 49 people received the reminder mail by Kaushal. The deadline again got extended to 15th October.
Oct 6-20 : Received answered questionnaire from 5 people - Sameer Pandey(6th), Nalin Talwar (8th), Manish Kumar(15th), Darshit Raval(18th), Krish (20th)
Oct 22: 36 more people received the reminder mail. The deadline here set to 25th October.
Summary:
1. 98 people received the questionnaire (Sept 13 - Oct 22)
2. 89 people received the reminder (Oct 5 - 22)
3. 11 people sent the answered questionnaire back.
Other Mailbox Activities
Received emails from - Sohan, Krish (2 mails), Pankaj(2 mails), Darshit, Manish, Ritumbra, Srinidhi, Naveen Singhal, and Piyush C. Meanwhile, several informal talks related to DIP took place.
Other Updates
1. Two potential members of Dream India Project - Piyush Ranjan and Pankaj Pandey - will not be able to contribute or take action for some time due to some personal/professional constraints. They have promised to join us sometimes next year. We hope they join the project asap.
2. We have received very enthusiastic emails from Piyush C, Darshit Rawal, and Naveen Singhal related to their future contribution to the project.
Website Updates
Here, I am the person who has the sole responsibility to get this work done and I am very apologetic that the launch date is being delayed. I have been working on the website continuously, though I got very less time to continue the development due to my professional life. I assure everybody that the website will soon be available to be viewed by general public. The development process will be completed in 3 phases. The work to be done in those phases are:
1. Different Projects listing; forms for register, join, and donation; survey page with listing and results; message boxes for the people to comment on pages and articles; placement of images;
2. Discussion forum; Member login functionality; complaints and feedback; public-government interface; help desk, whom to consult; search; members pages; map your location; and national network
3. E-promotion practices, Administration software for discussion panel, reports, and website management.
I'll propose to make the website live after phase 1 that is supposed to be completed very soon. The only constraint is the unavailability of articles, data, and page contents (mostly text contents). I request members to contribute with articles, page contents, and other relevant information that can be put into the website.
Proposed Actions/Steps
1. As we have received 12 answered questionnaires till now and we are finally going to close this process at October 25th, we should start working on the goals that the questionnaire was supposed to achieve. The goal is to identify and finalize at least 3 core sectors where the organization will be working in the start. We need to focus our actions and we'll be finalizing the actionplan and strategies for the same. I think we should start working on the next step from Oct 25th. We can have discussions here. Your suggestions and ideas, that how to finalize this, are awaited.
2. The website is about to be live. So, friends, pour it with the articles, data, and information. I request you all to write for DIP as much as you can. If you have any suggestions, drop them here.
3. After we create a consensus based on the answered questionnaire, we will have to finalize few fundamentals prerequisites for an organized group. We should end up producing -
a). The official documents - MoA (memorandum of association), Article of association, Charter, and Agenda for public distribution.
b). Strategies, action plan, core areas/sector, action plan(with milestones, strategy, and responsibilities) for each area/sector, financial strategies, and other things, if any.
c). The core team for first operational year and the chapters and the responsibilities for members.
4. We will work on the further steps after we finish these three steps.
Let's start the conversation here! Jai Hind!
